CNI Guard
An EGV Business Development Example for a British Firm
Key Insights
EGV successfully led CNIGuard's expansion into the U.S. market, securing significant contracts with Con Edison and establishing partnerships in the private sector. This strategic move enhanced CNIGuard's valuation and market presence, also leading to the hiring of their first American CEO.
Initial Challenges in the U.S. Market
The UK cybersecurity company CNIGuard was widely successful in Britain with its innovative approach to sensor-based solutions. However, they had been unsuccessful in their initial attempt to enter the U.S. market, from client recruitment to navigating federal laws, dealing with U.S. competitors, and building a robust profile in the U.S. CNIGuard then engaged EGV to facilitate and accelerate CNIGuard’s transition to the New York and the U.S. market.
Empire Global Ventures' Strategic Intervention
EGV persuaded CNIGuard to look beyond the public sector and into the private sector for U.S. clients. EGV introduced the company to Con Edison and facilitated an initial six-figure paid pilot project for CNIGuard. Upon the heels of that pilot project’s success, EGV then negotiated a seven-figure contract for CNI Guard with ConEdison, and eight figure contracts then followed. Next, EGV successfully connected the company to hospitals and pharmacies, persuading them of the clear return on investment of integrating CNIGuard’s proprietary technology. These partnerships and revenue-generating deals did not simply help the company increase its valuation, but also credibly established CNIGuard’s presence in the U.S. Alexandra Stanton, EGV’s CEO, subsequently ran the search and hired CNIGuard’s first American CEO.
Testimonial from CNIGuard CEO
CNIGuard CEO Ed Klinger stated, “EGV directly, and positively, impacted our ability to grow as a company in the United States. They honed our message and introduced us to U.S.-based clients that increased revenue and enabled us to expand in a foreign market. Alexandra even helped with our US recruiting. Our relationship with Alexandra and Sam has been extremely beneficial for CNIGuard.”
